Causes of Wet Basement

  1. With seasonal climate changes, humidity can be quite extreme at times. Stormy seasons with substantial rainfall and year round precipitation can also cause flooding issues.
  2. If flooding occurs, the basement will suffer the brunt of any water damage.
  3. If you let water damage in the basement go ignored and allow it to remain wet, moist, moldy, humid or smell of foul odors, the basement air, along with the odor, humidity and possibly even feces, will rise and spread throughout the rest of the house, creating an unhealthy environment for you, your family and guests.

I just wanted to say, it was a pleasure meeting you, a while back at Duck Donuts. I have actually used your company, for some work and they did a great job. A young man named Tim Jordan (A Marine) lead the way. I'll be recommending you to anyone who asks.

Our solution was to break out the concrete on the floor (in the corner) and trench down along the wall. We installed a Drain tile (to relieve pressure) and a sump pump will be used to remove water build coming from drain-tile. We added a battery backup for occasions when the power goes out.

Install piers to supporting beam to support floor joist to level existing flooring. Use mechanical jacks to level as close as possible underneath in crawl space and support with concrete columns. Flooring membrane will adhere to new columns. Will need to dig in crawl space to properly secure columns and reinstall vapor barrier after finished. Seal the duct system using the Aeroseal process. Reducing duct leakage. Improving the efficiency of the duct system allowing for more even temperatures from room to room.

Crawlspace Encapsulation: Our solution was to remove all batted insulation and the old vapor barrier. We Installed dimple shield on the floor of the crawlspace. We also Installed a 16 mil vapor barrier to the floor and walls of the crawlspace. Added seam tape to bind vapor barrier together. We added spray foam seal plate around exterior walls. Install R 11 foam board to exterior walls only. We sealed vents and insulate access door. Summit also Installed one wise air 55 in the crawlspace and ran a line through the exterior wall. We gave Mr. Meshesha a 5-year manufacturer warranty and 1 yearly checkup free. We added spray foam air duct lines to insulate with 1 inch of closed cell spray foam.
